Automation Test Engineer

As an Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing secure identity services and access workflows in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This is a hands-on role where you will use automation-first practices to ensure quality across APIs, cloud integrations, and event-driven systems. You’ll collaborate with engineering, security, and DevOps teams to deliver robust, scalable IAM solutions.

What you'll be doing

Design, plan, and execute test strategies, test cases, and automation suites.
Develop and maintain Python/Pytest frameworks for backend automation and API testing.
Validate event-driven systems (Pub/Sub, queues) and policy testing logic.
Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines for continuous feedback.
Track and manage defects in JIRA and produce audit-ready documentation.
Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement practices.

Who we're looking for

2+ years in backend automation testing using Python and Pytest.
Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.
Experience with REST API testing and tools (Postman, Insomnia).
Familiarity with event-driven systems, SCIM, OIDC, LDAP protocols.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery.
Knowledge of cloud environments, ideally GCP.

Nice-to-Have

Policy-as-code testing exposure (OPA/Rego).
Performance testing knowledge (JMeter, Gatling).
Experience with orchestration tools, graph databases, or containerised tests.
