Technical Lead Batch Management

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead Batch Management to join an enterprise infrastructure team responsible for mission-critical batch processing systems.
This role involves delivering operational solutions, leading infrastructure engineering activities, and ensuring high availability, stability, and performance of global batch scheduling environments. You will take ownership of incident resolution, automation efforts, and process improvements, working in a complex and highly regulated environment.

What you'll be doing

Ensure operational stability, scalability, and resilience of supported services
Maintain compliance with operational and service management standards, ensuring accurate documentation and data quality
Lead and coordinate incident, problem, and change management processes within agreed SLAs
Troubleshoot and resolve critical batch issues and scheduling failures
Deliver infrastructure engineering enhancements, focusing on automation and performance optimisation
Develop and deploy solutions to meet load, performance, security, and resilience requirements
Drive automation of build, testing, and deployment processes to improve consistency and reliability
Coordinate critical end-of-day/month/year batch cycles, ensuring accurate execution and escalation of issues when required
Prepare and manage shift plans for around-the-clock support coverage

Who we're looking for

Expert knowledge of JCL for IBM z/OS Mainframe
Strong experience with TWS/IWS (IBM Workload Scheduler) in large-scale environments
Ability to resolve batch processing errors rapidly and efficiently
Familiarity with Horizont IWS Graph, BatchCP, BatchAD, and XINFO
Knowledge of IBM-DWC (Dynamic Workload Console) is an advantage
Excellent communication and coordination skills, including experience engaging with global stakeholders
Proven experience in incident escalation, service recovery, and operational risk management

Nice to Have

Experience with automation tools, CI/CD processes, and enterprise optimisation initiatives
Background in financial services or similarly regulated environments
Understanding of mainframe job scheduling integration with distributed platforms
