Join our client's team, where you'll play a key role in shaping the cloud security posture of a global financial institution's GCP estate. Your contribution will help deliver high-impact solutions in cloud security – Google Cloud Security & Compliance at enterprise scale, powered by cutting-edge tooling and AI-supported automation.

 

You'll step in as a Senior GCP DevSecOps Engineer, working within the Global Cloud Services – Google Cloud Security & Compliance team as a trusted advisor and hands-on contributor. Your role will be central to securing and maintaining compliance across a large-scale GCP environment while increasing cloud adoption and customer satisfaction – not just execution.

What you'll be doing

  • Building, deploying, and managing GCP foundation platform applications using Google Cloud products (BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Build, Cloud Run) with Python as the primary programming language
  • Engineering solutions on the GCP foundation platform using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Config Connector)
  • Implementing preventive security solutions centrally to improve overall cloud security posture
  • Integrating, configuring, deploying, and managing centrally provided cloud services covering IAM, networking, logging, operating systems, and containers
  • Ensuring compliance with centrally defined Cloud Security Standards and Operational Risk standards (network, firewall, OS, logging, monitoring, availability, resiliency)
  • Building and supporting CI/CD/CT (continuous integration, delivery, and testing) pipelines and activities
  • Ensuring good change management practices in line with central standards; maintaining support and operational documentation

Who we're looking for

  • Solid experience building and managing a range of services in Google Cloud Platform
  • Expert-level understanding of Cloud Security and GCP-specific security best practices
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps and SRE principles; hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Strong CI/CD experience: Cloud Build, Flux CD, Helm
  • Proficiency in at least one of: Python, Go, Bash
  • Experience with security and compliance: IAM, cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools, full automation and configuration management
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills – ability to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences
  • Solid understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance processes

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on expertise with GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Build, or Cloud Run specifically
  • Track record of proactively identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Experience working in highly regulated financial services or enterprise environments
